Allcargo Group – Libraries in rural schools

On collaboration with the Zilla Parishad of Raigad, Allcargo Group, an Indian-born global logistics business, has organized a School Library Programme at Zilla Parishad schools in Bhendkhal and Uran, Maharashtra. The program’s goal is to instill reading habits in pupils by encouraging them to read books and obtain information. Allcargo Group is donating over 6,000 books as part of the project, which will assist 1,417 students in 12 Zilla Parishad schools. This is consistent with the goal of our Founder and Chairman, Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty, of supporting education as a cornerstone for nation-building and laying a firm basis for the future. Allcargo Group helps kids to become competitive and equipped for a brighter future by establishing a favorable atmosphere.

The school library is a source of knowledge for both pupils and teachers. When students visit their school library, they have access to a world of information, which aids in their overall growth.

With ready access to digital portable entertainment, pupils frequently abandon the pleasures of reading. We hope to instill the habit of reading in youngsters by stocking school libraries with books chosen by qualified librarians. Books and comics on general knowledge, history, and Indian mythology are available in Marathi, Hindi, and English.

Education is one of our primary areas of focus. We hope that our school library program will encourage children to read on a regular basis and provide them with access to knowledge and resources that will improve their education.

According to a recent research published in JAMA Paediatrics, screen time among children has increased by 52% globally since the epidemic. At the age of nine, children who were exposed to an average of two hours of screen time each day fared worse on attention and executive function tests, according to the study. According to a recent study conducted by Indian-origin professors at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as mobile phone access becomes more widespread in India, children are spending up to three-four hours per day on screens, exceeding the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommended screen time limit of 60 minutes per day, or approximately 420 minutes per week. Parents and educators may decrease screen time and promote good reading habits.
