Ambuja Cement Foundation plantation efforts in villages of Chandrapur
Ambuja Cement Foundation – Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF), Ambuja Cements Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, has launched a plantation effort in its Better Cotton project villages at Chandrapur for community development and environmental enhancement. Upparwahi, Warora, Hingna, and Jiwati are the four sites where the Foundation works with the farmer’s community.
Considering the importance of maintaining and enhancing biodiversity, the Company has conducted a plantation campaign in its 648 project villages of 15 Producer Units with over 65,000 farmers.
Planting trees is thought to be an excellent approach to help Mother Nature since it will address the issue of rising temperatures, which lower desirable food yields while boosting weed and pest growth. Forest conservation and plantation are vital because they can help to improve precipitation patterns.
The Company has currently planted a total of 9,37,183 trees. Several government departments, NGOs, the commercial sector, and volunteers, among others, have stepped forward to help in the project communities.
Mr. Neeraj Akhoury, CEO of India Holcim and MD & CEO of Ambuja Cements Ltd, commented, “We are satisfied with our CSR efforts that facilitated the success of the tree planting campaign.”

In the project villages, the plantation effort will increase biodiversity. Our dedication to Mother Nature and community development has been strengthened as a result of this project.”
SHGs, school committees, village youth groups, government organizations, and non-governmental organizations are all involved in the Company’s development strategy. Despite a variety of obstacles, including COVID-19, these organizations banded together and were able to plant a large number of trees.
“Despite various hurdles, we implemented the tree plantation program,” said Ms. Pearl Tiwari, Director & CEO, Ambuja Cement Foundation. We’ve even come up with a novel Dense Forest (Oxygen Park) concept for the two villages of Hirapur and Mangi, which would give the land a natural dense forest look with trees, bushes, and orchards.”
Mother Nature must be maintained for a sustainable future, and the Company is looking forward to taking tiny steps toward a better tomorrow.
