Apoorvi Bharatram: Transforming Mental Health in Government Schools

Apoorvi Bharatram

Apoorvi Bharatram – Mental health concerns are becoming more and more important in today’s generation. With a significant number of people around the world suffering from mental health problems quietly and often unknowingly, there is an urgent need to raise awareness and normalize the debate about mental health. I’m here.

It is important to recognize that just as physical health is of utmost importance, mental health is equally important to living a healthy and fulfilling life. Fortunately, there are change makers working to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and change the landscape of support and understanding.

Young changemaker Apoorvi Bharatram has made it her mission to address the acute lack of awareness and lack of mental health professionals in public schools. A native of Delhi, she comes from a family of entrepreneurs with a strong interest in psychology. Apoorvi hopes to address mental health issues in public schools in Delhi through her own initiative, The Happiness Project.

The idea for Apoorvi Bharatram’s transformational journey to improve the mental health of marginalized student communities arose from her personal experience and her curiosity about psychology. After witnessing her sister’s struggle with depression and engaging in her research into abnormal psychology, Ms. Apoorvi became aware of the prevalent mental health problems all around her.

Apoorvi Bharatram was passionate about her mission to address mental health issues in public schools, but faced challenges along the way. One of her biggest hurdles was convincing teachers of the importance of addressing mental health and creating a supportive environment for students.

After initial resistance, Apoorvi and her team tackled the challenge by providing statistics on their students’ mental health problems. By demonstrating the severity of the problem and highlighting the impact of mental health on academic performance and overall well-being, teachers were able to gain support and cooperation.

The impact is not limited to the school environment. Her work in raising awareness about mental health has helped break down the stigma surrounding mental health, broaden the conversation, and provide much-needed support for those working with mental health issues. Through her work, she has not only initiated important conversations, but also encouraged governments, teachers and stakeholders to recognize the importance of mental health in society.

Apoorvi’s remarkable work inspires others, demonstrating the profound change that can be achieved through passion, determination, and a genuine concern for the well-being of others.

Looking to the future, Apoorvi Bharatram has ambitious goals to extend her influence and bring about positive change in society. Over the next five years, she envisions setting up teams in multiple cities to conduct research and start a large-scale dialogue on mental health.

Additionally, Apoorvi wants to work with the government to ensure that all teachers receive regular training to effectively address the mental health needs of their students. She is also working on an app that brings diagnostic tools to more people, thereby increasing awareness and support for mental health.
