AstraZeneca opens 3 Health Information Centres in Delhi
Delhi – AstraZeneca India and Plan India have announced the expansion of their flagship CSR effort, the Young Health Program, by opening three Health Information Centres (HIC) in Sangam Vihar and Dakshin Puri, respectively, in Delhi. Senior dignitaries from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Directorate of Family Welfare, NCD Cell, MCD North, beneficiaries from multiple under-resourced communities, Plan India, and AstraZeneca India attended the flag-off event held at The India Habitat Centre.
The ‘Young Health Programme’ intends to lessen the growing burden of noncommunicable diseases on health systems by focusing on behavior change primarily among youth aged 10 to 24 years.
The announcement was accompanied by a theatrical presentation highlighting the program’s good results over the last decade in the Delhi communities of Bawana, Holambikalan, and Badarpur. A group of roughly 15 beneficiaries, peer educators, and kids from the grass-roots communities constructed an engagement tool that is used to promote awareness and draw attention to the cause on the ground.
