Central Coalfields Limited – CSR Conference in Jharkhand
The two-day Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Darbhanga House, Ranchi, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability Conclave-2022 ended on a strong note. Twelve different speakers, including retired IAS officers, spoke on various elements of CSR.
The event was attended by CMD CCL PM Prasad, Director (P and P), SK Gomasta, ED, CIL, B Sairam, Independent Directors, GMs and HODs, and other dignitaries.
The two-day conference drew about 150 people from Coal India and its companies, including CCL.
Ranjan Mohapatra, Director (HR), IOCL, spoke on CSR for national development and fulfilling Social Responsibility Goals (SRGs). He went on to say that SRGs are an important element of the commercial operations of many respectable corporations and PSUs, including CIL.
Wing Commander Anupama Joshi, Director (Personnel) at Doon School, spoke about general equality in the military services, as well as access to financing in Uttarakhand’s rural remote highlands. Anit Kumar Thakur, TERI’s Head of CSR, discussed Corporate Social Responsibility and Climate Change. He emphasized that CSR is a powerful instrument for combating climate change.

Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai, General Manager (Operations) Dr. Dhaval Bhatt discussed the hospital’s services for the general public. During the conference, Emeritus Professor IIT Mumbai Prof. Satish B. Agnihotri spoke about the importance of fast-tracking breakthrough technologies and how an ounce of practise is better than a tonne of theory.
Coal India and its subsidiaries set up a booth to display a variety of CSR efforts in their different companies. CCL won an award in the sports and education category for promoting sports and providing education to underprivileged youngsters in Jharkhand, as well as for having the finest CSR stall presenting numerous new initiatives.
PVKR Mallkarjuna Rao, Director (Personnel), CCL, spoke about how Coal India and its subsidiaries’ CSR teams are working for the greater good of society. He went on to say that the participants would be able to implement best practises in their firms, and that all of the presenters have effectively discussed various topics that may be implemented in businesses.
