Churchill Brothers – The sixth season of the Vedanta Women’s League came to an end today at the Duler Football Ground in Mapusa, with the closing ceremony taking place in the honourable presence of Ms. Valanka Alemao, CEO of Church Brothers and Chairperson of the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) women’s football committee, Mr. Caitano Fernandes, President of the GFA, Mr. Annanya Agarwal, President of Vedanta Sports, Mr. The 6th Edition of the Vedanta Women’s League was won by Churchill Brothers FC, with Compassion FC coming in second. The league’s champions, runners-up, and best performers were honoured during the closing ceremony.

The Golden Boot was given to Ms. Rizella Cia Almeida of the Churchill Brothers FC team, the Golden Glove to Ms. Dorathy Alphonso of the Sinquerim SC, the Golden Ball to Ms. Royana Fernandes of the Compassion FC, and the Most Promising Player award went to Ms. Donea Fernandes of the Kelbai SC squad. The Vedanta Women’s League 2022, which began on November 13th, featured intense football action from 5 clubs, including Kelbai SC, CSM Taleigao, Churchill Brothers FC, Compassion FC, and Sinquerim SC, as they battled it out in a two-leg format for the championship.

I also want to congratulate this edition’s top performers and thank all the participating teams for helping to make the competition a big success. At Vedanta Sports, we continuously work to find and develop young athletes with potential in order to give them a stage on which to demonstrate their footballing prowess. I’m very happy to see how well-liked this competition is getting and how many female footballers now use it as a springboard to develop their skills and showcase them on a variety of esteemed football stages.

Many female football players in the state of Goato have benefited greatly from the Vedanta Women’s League in developing their talent and honing their skills.

In order to give budding women footballers across the state the chance to demonstrate their potential and get support as they continue to improve in football, Vedanta and the Goa Football Association (GFA) have created the first-of-its-kind Vedanta Women’s League. Over the years, the competition has drawn female football players from all over the state, with over 60 of them competing this year.
