CSR and Investment conclave Inauguration in Kohima
Kohima, August 18 – On August 22, the Nagaland government-organized inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR and Investment conclave will be officially opened by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
According to Alemtemshi Jamir, chief executive officer of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), the Union Finance Minister would also take part in the Investor and Bankers meeting with a focus on Nagaland on Thursday.
According to him, Sitharaman will visit Nagaland from August 22 to 24.
Due to the Union Minister’s inability to attend, the conclave, which was originally planned to take place on July 4 and 5, was postponed, he claimed.
However, as businesses, investors, and bankers arrived in the state, the state government decided to postpone the conclave and merely hold a prelude.
CSR and Investment conclave
As the minister of corporate affairs, Sitharaman has assured him that she will stick around during the conclave, lobby for the implementation of numerous CSR projects, and recruit investors.
According to him, more than 100 businesses and investors from various regions of the nation have declared their interest and anticipate to contribute up to Rs 160 crore in CSR money.
Jamir further stressed that the IDAN is merely functioning as a facilitator and not the actual project implementer.
According to him, the conclave is accessible to all CSOs and NGOs operating inside the state that have met the requirements for corporation law registration and have been operating for two to three years carrying out CSR programmes. He claimed that IDAN had opened the way, and the conference was just the start of further CSR initiatives.
To aid CSOs and NGOs in the state in planning their programmes and approaching corporations for funding, IDAN has also established a centre for financial outreach at its office, according to the speaker.
Joint Secretary IDAN Renny Wilfred reported that organizations from all around the state, both CSR registered and non-registered, had submitted applications for almost 400 projects.
He stated that just about 25 organizations in Nagaland now meet the CSR criteria, thus IDAN aims to run a campaign to educate CSOs on how to approach corporations and investors for CSR funding and investment.
During the conclave, the Union Minister is likely to announce a number of projects from corporations and industries. RG PTI NBS RG
