Danfoss strengthens ‘Make in India’ commitment with new hydrostatic production line in Pune
Hydrostatic production line – Eaton Fluid Power Ltd., a Danfoss company, has opened an entirely new hydrostatics production line at its state-of-the-art facility in Pimpri, Pune, to meet the needs of the local farm sector. Danfoss is the first company in India to be able to manufacture hydrostatic transmission solutions.
Mr. Eric Alstrom, President of Danfoss Power Solutions, Astrid Mozes, President Hydrostatics Division, and the rest of the Danfoss Power Solutions Leadership Team from headquarters, India leadership team, and select Pimpri campus employees presided over the inauguration, which followed all Covid protocols.
Danfoss has a long and illustrious history in India, and the addition of our operations in Pimpri and Magarpatta will expand our footprint and expand our opportunities in India, a region in which Danfoss will make major investments in the coming years due to its enormous growth potential. Our strategic investments in digitalization are yielding positive results, as evidenced by the new hydrostatics production line. “We are certain that we will provide unsurpassed service and knowledge to our clients, and that we will be well positioned to satisfy the growing demand from the India market,” said Eric Alstrom, President of Danfoss Power Solutions.
The advent of this new hydrostatics line will aid in increasing the energy efficiency and sustainability of applications that use these solutions. The product’s quick return on investment and operating efficiency make it ideally suited for the Indian market. This new state-of-the-art assembly line and test stand is MES-integrated, with a high safety rating and in-process Poka-yokec, all while maintaining the company’s strong safety culture and zero-defect philosophy. The product’s digitization potential, compactness, and accessibility benefits are also highlights.

In India’s digitalization, urbanisation, agricultural, and electrification journey, Danfoss‘ Pune facilities satisfy the expanding demand for innovation and development. “Around 95 percent of the items manufactured in our facility employ materials and components made in India, in line with the government’s aim of ‘Make in India.'” “The company intends to invest in expanding its product offerings in India and remains committed to achieving a minimum of 75 percent localization for sourcing and manufacture in future product lines,” said Prasanna Kumar, who oversees Eaton Fluid Power’s Indian operations.
The location also puts the manufacturing facility in close proximity to Danfoss India Innovation Centre in Magarpatta, Pune, as well as its important customers in several sectors. Access to and availability of land, infrastructure, and experienced personnel in the area were also important factors in the company’s decision to expand its presence in the city.
“It’s a joyous time for us as we launch our new Hydrostatics production line to satisfy the needs of the Indian market,” the business claims.
It’s a step closer to our goal of localization and manufacturing in India for India. Danfoss is committed to designing a better tomorrow by developing energy efficient solutions and achieving long-term sustainable growth in India, which continues to be an important region for the company’s growth.
