Dettol Banega Swasth India launches Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat Yatra in Varanasi
Dettol Banega Swasth is a film directed by Dettol Banega Swasth India. Through a series of 90 Nukkad Nataks performed on boats over the ghats of Varanasi, followed by schools in Gorakhpur, India launched the Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat Yatra to raise awareness about health, hygiene, and sanitation. The campaign, led by Reckitt Benckiser and implemented by PLAN India, set out on a journey to inspire children, communities, and individuals to establish conscious hand hygiene practises.
Padma Shri 2022 – Swami Sivananda Swamiji, Dr. Daya Shankar Mishra, Minister of State in the Ministry of Aayush of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Mridula Jaiswal, Mayor – Varanasi, Dr. Umesh Shukla, Additional Education Director – Varanasi, and Dr. Rakesh Singh, District Education Officer – Varanasi were among those present at the Varanas The yatra began at Assi Ghat and continued to Rajghat, passing over 84 ghats on the way, with 150 teachers doing activities on the ghats to educate the audience about cleanliness, health, and the environment.

With the help of creative formats and culturally adaptive behavior change communication, the main goal is to raise awareness about hand hygiene and help spread the message of overall health. DBSI strives to enable local communities to influence long-term behavior change.”

The Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat Yatra began in Varanasi with a Ganga Yatra, a tour of the Ganges that included 84 ghats (from Assi ghat to Raj Ghat) and Nukkad Natak performances by teams in three boats. With the mesmerizing lights of Ganga Aarti, the ceremony drew to a close. The project took 150 instructors on a tour of the ghats, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, health, and the environment through various activities. Over 45 schools were involved in the campaign, which reached out to 300 teachers and 10,000 students.
