Fully automatic electric wheelchairs – Under the auspices of the Muthoot Snehasancharini Project, Muthoot Finance presented fully automated electric wheelchairs worth Rs. 45,000 apiece to a group of people with special needs in Bengaluru. The CSR initiative was launched in an effort to enhance the lives of specially-abled persons, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

In an event organised at the Association of People with Disability (APD) in Lingarajapuram, Bangalore, K. J. George, MLA, Sarvagnanagar, launched the ceremony and distributed the wheelchairs. George M Alexander, Muthoot Finance Ltd’s Deputy Managing Director, presided over the ceremony. As the event’s Chief Guest, George M George, Deputy Managing Director of Muthoot Finance Ltd, addressed the crowd.

“Muthoot Finance has always strived to be a responsible business organisation, and our CSR programmes are primarily focused on community activities that benefit the poor and disadvantaged members of society,” says the company.

Fully automatic electric wheelchairs

George M Alexander, Deputy Managing Director, said of the CSR programme. We are now donating completely automated electric mobility equipment with the goal of empowering differently-abled persons and making them more autonomous and mobile so that they can follow their ambitions. As responsible corporate citizens, our goal is to contribute to the creation of a society that is accessible, inclusive, and unbiased, which is why we have chosen to support the cause of giving equal opportunities for people with disabilities. We are also bringing the event to Bangalore this time.

Muthoot Finance supplied artificial legs to 101 people in Ernakulam as part of the Snehasancharini programme in 2019. Muthoot had already done similar wheelchair distribution initiatives in Ernakulam and Trivandrum, Kerala, as part of the Snehasancharini Scheme, and the intention now is to spread the scheme to other states in South India.
