PepsiCo Foundation partners with Smile Foundation for Gurugram fight against COVID19
Gurugram fight against COVID19 – In response to the rapid rise in Covid-19 cases in the Delhi-NCR region, PepsiCo Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, partnered with the non-profit Smile Foundation to deliver Covid-19 safety kits to the Gurugram administration. Masks and digital thermometers, as well as oximeters, thermal scanners, and oxygen concentrators, are included in the safety kits. The project intends to assist the Gurugram government in managing the pandemic effectively.
In the presence of Nishant Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, Ankita Choudhary, IAS, SDM (North), Gurugram, and Joieta Rajput, Chief Manager, Sustainable Development, Smile Foundation, the Covid-19 safety kits were handed over. Himanshu Priyadarshi, Director, Public Policy and Government Affairs, Juhi Gupta, Head Sustainability, and Amit Nanchahal, Associate Director, Corporate Communications, were among the PepsiCo India team members present at the handover ceremony. Over 15,000 N-95 masks are included in the safety kits, which have been made essential following an increase in Covid-19 cases in Delhi-NCR recently.
“There has been a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in Gurugram and adjoining districts,” stated Nishant Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, in response to the increase in Covid-19 cases. Face masks are now required, and everyone is asked to adhere to all Covid safety standards and avoid reducing their guard against Covid-19. We’d like to express our gratitude to PepsiCo India for their continuous efforts and cooperation in effectively managing the pandemic.”

Gurugram fight against COVID19

In response to the rising number of Covid cases, the PepsiCo Foundation, in collaboration with Smile, is distributing over 50,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, as well as digital thermometers, thermal scanners, oxymeters, concentrators, and over 1 lakh N95 masks, across 11 states, including Haryana, to assist the administration in its fight against Covid.
PepsiCo India donated 4 lakh meals to the underprivileged community in Gurugram during the first phase of the Covid-19 pandemic through the distribution of take-home ration kits. The company has began a programme to provide sanitation employees in Gurugram with hygiene kits and raise awareness about mask use and compliance.
