The HCLFoundation, which manages HCLTech’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda in India, announced the planting of 47,000+ seedlings of various native species across India to commemorate the HCL Group’s 47th anniversary.

Chennai, Madurai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Lucknow, Vijayawada, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Hardoi, Thoothukudi, North and South 24 Paraganas, and Noida participated in the huge plantation initiative. HCLTech employees, their families, NGO partners, community volunteers, school students, and women’s groups helped plant trees at government schools, forested regions, HCLTech sites, and designated places for mass afforestation.

In conjunction with numerous stakeholders and local communities, the HCLFoundation has planted over 1.45 million saplings across the country to date. This is consistent with HCLTech’s broader CSR goals of contributing to socioeconomic and environmental improvement while complying to the eight National Missions of the Government of India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

“We are dedicated to accelerating progress toward climate action.” “We are proud of our employees’, partners’, women’s groups’, students’, and community members’ active participation in making this plantation drive a huge success,” stated Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Vice President, Global CSR, HCLFoundation.
