IHCL and Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor Pay Tribute to Medical Workers
Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor – Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, participated in the country’s fight against COVID-19 in accordance with its culture and ideals.
The IHCL’s #MealsToSmiles programme provided approximately 4.5 million meals to healthcare workers who were on the front lines of the pandemic. IHCL and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor will organize a #HealWithHoli themed event ahead of the festival of colours to honour Mumbai’s medical community.
“Since the commencement of the epidemic, the medical fraternity has been at the frontline – risking their lives to keep us safe,” stated Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IHCL. IHCL is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community through its #MealstoSmiles campaign. We appreciate the cooperation of the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, and all of our other partners in this endeavor. We’d want to take this opportunity to thank the medical community and salute their courage.”

“Our healthcare community has selflessly served in these extraordinary times of the epidemic and need to be recognized and honored,” said Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. What began as a simple notion two years ago took on a life of its own and grew into a nationwide meal-serving operation. It’s been an honor to work with IHCL on this important cause, and I’d want to thank the doctors for their contributions. #HealWithHoli is a tiny way to express our gratitude and honor the doctors’ kindness and bravery.”
Chhatwal and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor will meet with doctors at Sion Hospital as part of the #HealWithHoli campaign, where the medical personnel will be recognized for their valiant efforts. The event will be followed by a specially crafted evening at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace, with doctors from all around the city gathering for a celebration supper.
