IHCL and Tata Steel Long Products Ltd to Establish a Skill Centre
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, announced a collaboration with Tata Steel Long Products Ltd. for a specialised skill centre in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand (TSLPL).
Mr. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, IHCL, stated on the occasion that Jharkhand is an important state with growing commercial and tourism potential. One of the key initiatives of IHCL’s ESG + framework of Paathya is skill development. We are thrilled to be working with Tata Steel Long Products Ltd to develop the industry’s talent pool and nurture tomorrow’s hospitality leaders.
This programme will provide rural youths with a curriculum centered on key themes in the service industry. The first batch of 30 students, 85% of whom were female, began their training at the Gamharia Skill Centre in the industrial area. The Bridge Program’s 45-day training programme includes fundamentals such as communication and personality skills, body language, and grooming.

This collaboration includes IHCL as the knowledge partner, Tata Steel Long Products Ltd (TSLPL) as the financial partner, and Head Held High Foundation (HHHF) as the implementing partner for this unique youth training initiative.

On the 75th anniversary of Khanij Divas, the Ministry of Mines, Government of India awarded Hindustan Zinc’s four mines – Zawar Group of Mines, Rajpur Dariba Mine, Kayad Mine, and Sindesar Khurd Mine – the prestigious 5 Star Rating Mines award. Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines, presented Hindustan Zinc at the National Fire Centre in Nagpur during the 17th National Conclave on Mines and Minerals.
