IICA celebrates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav with Exhibition of ESG-CSR
Exhibition Of ESG-CSR – New Delhi, India: At the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), IMT Maneasr, thousands of industry leaders witnessed a revolutionary progression of ESG and CSR. Around 30 leading firms displayed their sustainability, environmental-social-government (ESG), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives (CSR).
IICA’s School of Business Environment (SoBE) has paved the way for businesses to become more socially, economically, and environmentally responsible. IICA is a think tank under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs that, among other things, is seeking to develop the country’s ESG-CSR ecosystem.
The event’s Chief Guest was Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, who took part virtually. He added that the Ministry’s efforts to promote good corporate governance have made it easier to do business in the country. The government places a high value on’minimal government, maximum governance,’ public trust, and ease of doing business. Over 25000 compliances and approximately 1500 union laws have been revoked by the government. The Amrit Kaal will focus on the next phase of Ease of Doing Business (EoDB 2.0) and Ease of Living, with the government pursuing the objective of “trust-based governance” to boost capital and human resource productivity. He emphasized that people’s fundamental right to sustainable development has finally been recognized.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has made significant contributions, according to Shri Rajesh Verma, Secretary, by introducing the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate under the Companies Act, as well as the National Voluntary Guidelines on Social, Environmental, and Economic Responsibilities of Business and an updated version of the National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC). Business Responsibility and Sustainability (BRSR) reporting has been enforced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for the top 1000 listed businesses by market capitalization. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ Report on Business Responsibility Reporting (BRR) and National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct spurred the creation of BRSR.
In his welcome remark, Shri Praveen Kumar, Director General and CEO, IICA said, “It is well-known that the economy is the backbone of every nation, and one of the primary drivers of this backbone is the corporate sector.” They have made a big contribution to India’s incredible growth narrative, and they must continue to make exceptional contributions to ensure that the economy continues to grow. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) creates an environment that allows businesses to be productive contributors to national development. The IICA is the country’s only institution with a mandate to improve corporate governance. Thirty exhibitors working on ESG-SDG-CSR displayed their best practises in action. The Exhibition was a success.
