JSPL Foundation launches SwayamSampanna Nari
SwayamSampanna Nari – On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the JSPL Foundation, Jindal Steel & Power’s CSR arm, launched a special programme on women’s skill and education in Odisha and Chhattisgarh called “Jindal SwayamSampanna Nari.”
Under this initiative, poor girls and women can get financial help to pay for vocational training or academic courses in professional or general fields at the institutions/colleges of their choice.
The program’s goal is to empower female children and women from poor and underprivileged backgrounds to become self-sufficient. The programme focuses on girl children and women who are unable to complete their studies or pursue additional education owing to financial restrictions.
This unique programme is being launched. “On this International Women’s Day, let us unite together to ensure gender equality now for a sustainable tomorrow,” stated Ms Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of the JSPL Foundation. Investing in women’s skill development and education is a top focus in social development programmes. The JSPL Foundation has announced the ‘Jindal SwayamSampanna Nari on Women’s Skill & Education’ programme as a first step in this direction. I am confident that this will significantly improve women’s employability and, as a result, their long-term empowerment. “At first, the scheme will be implemented across the entire state of Odisha and Chhattisgarh,” she said.
Women and girls from low-income families who are between the ages of 16 and 30 and have scored 60% or higher on the Class 10th Board Examination can apply for financial aid for vocational training courses. Girls who have received a 65 percent grade in higher secondary education and a 55 percent grade in graduation can apply for financial aid for graduation and post-graduation courses, respectively.
