JSPL Foundation – World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
ANGUL: The World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) 2022 was marked by the Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) subsidiary JSPL Foundation in a number of Angul district senior citizen homes and plant surrounding communities. Several awareness events were held in honour of the day to inform the participants about the problem of elderly persons being physically or mentally abused or neglected in families and communities. The JSPL Foundation is dedicated to the community living on its outskirts developing in an inclusive and sustainable manner. The JSPL Foundation focuses on providing elderly people with holistic care in order to help them live long, healthy lives.
The director of the Shree Sainatha Senior Citizen Home, Dr. Dilip Samal, commented on receiving ongoing funding from the JSPL Foundation: “We are grateful for their wonderful donation to both of our old age homes, which are located in Angul and Chhendipada. It is important to note that since its beginning, the JSPL Foundation has provided excellent support for our senior folks.
In addition to providing need-based assistance to the community’s senior citizen homes By offering a customized health care van to address the Physical, Mental, and Spiritual welfare of the people at their door-steps, JSPL Foundation is also running a special project called “Swasti” to promote the health of Elderly people.
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
JSPL Foundation also operates a Telemedicine centre and Swasti centre at Jamunda Jungle of Banarpal Block to address the health concerns of nearby villagers. The majority of the elderly people visit these facilities on a regular basis to receive proper medical consultations, medications, and physiotherapy from qualified doctors and therapists, respectively. Thousands of older individuals are served by this Swasti Express & Telemedicine centre, and patients can also receive telephone consultations from specialized doctors as needed.
JSP President & Group Head of CSR & Sustainability Mr. Prashant Hota stated, “We in JSPL Foundation focus on continuous improvement of the quality of life of the elderly people, mainly those who are abandoned, lost, underprivileged and vulnerable and consistently contribute to their physical and mental wellbeing.”
Along with helping a number of old age homes in areas of Odisha, the JSPL Foundation also supports old age homes in Delhi and Chhattisgarh.
