MHA grants foreign funding licenses to Quest Foundation and PVR Nest
New Delhi: The MHA has awarded foreign funding licenses to Quest Foundation, a Mumbai-based charity that works in the fields of education, health, and poverty eradication, as well as PVR Nest, PVR Cinemas’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the licenses were granted under the Overseas Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), allowing both organizations to accept funds from foreign contributors and use them for social purposes.
This year, 44 non-government organizations were granted FCRA licenses, including Quest Foundation and PVR Nest. There are now 16,890 FCRA-registered businesses in the United States.
Quest Foundation
Quest Foundation, according to its website, has donated over 65 crores to various philanthropic endeavours in the previous seven years across a spectrum of healthcare, educational, spiritual, tribal, and social causes. Several hospitals and individuals benefited from it during Covid-19.
According to its LinkedIn profile, PVR NEST (Network for Enablement and Social Transformation) was created in 2006 as a social arm of PVR Ltd with the goal of creating sustainable, liveable cities with safe multi-utility areas that empower women and children.
According to the report, the PVR Nest works well with the Sustainable Development Goal, which aims to make cities and human settlements safe, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable for all people.
