Locator India and 20 architectural institutes have partnered with Godrej & Boyce
Locator India – Godrej & Boyce has teamed together with Locator India’s ‘How to Festival’ to create a culture of creativity and independent thinking among India’s next-generation architects. The ‘How to Festival,’ which was founded by LOCATOR, a platform dedicated to shaping India’s architecture community for over 30 years, aims to meet the learning needs of architectural students through a series of interactive presentations by companies from a variety of industries, including construction, appliances, MEP, security, and more.
Godrej & Boyce has a number of enterprises that shape locations that have an impact on people’s lives. The flagship company of the Godrej Group, in collaboration with LOCATOR, has designed a curriculum that will help shape over 1000 final year architecture students as environmentally conscious and technically skilled professionals as part of the company’s effort to build an environment that is not only favourable today but also in the future. Through interactive meetings with industry specialists, the curriculum allows students to experience real-world projects, problems, and new industry approaches.
During the latter week of January and February 2022, Godrej & Boyce will meet with around 20 colleges. The students will be shown some of the tools and approaches utilised by Godrej Interio, Godrej Security Solutions, Godrej Locks, Godrej Appliances, and Godrej Electricals & Electronics’ design, product, and business specialists. For a more sustainable future, this will include methods to visualise spaces within a home, security considerations, MEP solutions for infrastructure projects, Green Building Solutions, and green appliances. In addition, the company is hosting a student portfolio competition, with the winner receiving a fellowship with Godrej Design Lab.
