Marriott International celebrates green efforts
Marriott International hotels planted 22,222 trees across forty locations to honor World Earth Day and to take a step towards sustainability and environmental consciousness. This is a continuing commitment to the company’s sustainability aims through Marriott International’s Serve 360, a social impact platform that promotes “Doing Good in Every Direction.”
Associates and visitors were part in this plantation drive. Hotel personnel implemented innovative efforts to engage guests in planting saplings, a satisfying activity that brought everyone closer to nature and underlined the need for everyone to contribute to developing a greener, more sustainable future.
Marriott International has made a commitment to pioneering ideas that enhance sustainability at every stage of our operations. We aim to inspire more people to contribute to this cause in their own way. Our objective is to include our guests and associates in our environmental initiatives. “Environmental preservation is a shared responsibility, and we are committed to doing our part to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Ranju Alex, Area Vice President of Marriott International’s South Asia region.
Marriott International has been in the forefront of sustainable practices across the world, taking considerable strides to reduce their carbon footprint across the board. The broad sustainability goals include significantly lowering greenhouse gas emissions by 2025 and getting 100% of their power from renewable sources.
