NTPC Girl Empowerment Mission instills life skills in girls
At NTPC Dadri, 120 young girls are taking part in various programmes to improve their abilities as part of the current NTPC Girl Empowerment Mission 2022. They receive training in a variety of areas and participate in extracurricular activities such as outdoor games. The girls are really enthusiastic about studying and developing new abilities.
Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), NTPC’s flagship CSR initiative, has achieved unprecedented heights of achievement in assisting young girls in achieving their aspirations.
The CISF department performed an emergency simulation drill for the young girls and also offered instruction on safety preparedness during an unforeseen emergency to educate them about the importance of safety.
The girls also took part in early morning yoga sessions designed to teach them about the benefits of yoga for mental and physical wellness. They were shown a variety of yoga asanas and urged to take a step toward better health.

A theme-based painting competition was also held at NTPC Dadri as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada 2022 initiative. The competition was attended by students from the Girl Empowerment Mission-2022, who displayed their creativity on the theme of cleanliness and good health.
Girls from all throughout the country have been empowered by the GEM programme, which has taught them about fundamental education, health, and self-defense. NTPC hopes that by launching this campaign, these girls would be able to overcome the glass ceiling and remove the myth of female foeticide in rural areas. The initiative has provided a platform for children to demonstrate their abilities and talents.
NTPC has been lauded for its support of female empowerment, with a special focus on girls from communities around NTPC projects. This year, NTPC is implementing its GEM programme in around 35 project regions.
