ONGC gives Rs 100 crores to PM CARES Fund for COVID19 & H3N2
On March 31, 2023, India’s Energy Maharatna, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), contributed Rs 100 crores to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund). This contribution will aid the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure, particularly in the fight against the COVID-19 and H3N2 influenza viruses.
Previously, ONGC contributed Rs 300 crore to the PM CARES Fund during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, and another Rs 70 crore to this fund in Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22 to maintain the medic equipment purchased by Oil Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) during the two waves of the pandemic. ONGC, as a socially responsible organization, supports the government’s efforts to protect the health and safety of all stakeholders, including communities. This contribution will help provide much-needed resources to supplement the government’s healthcare efforts.
