Organizations invited for the 2022 Chat for Impact Accelerator
Global social change-oriented businesses are asked to submit an application for the 2022 Chat for Impact Accelerator, which will offer funding, coaching, and support to create a WhatsApp messaging service to grow their impact.
One of the ten online Chat for Impact Bootcamps, which will each focus on a particular region or topic of social impact, will see participation from 100 organizations. To onboard, create, and launch a Chat service on WhatsApp, support and services will be given to each of these firms.
Then, twenty groups may be chosen to receive a $25 000 financial award, participate in the six-week online Chat for Impact Accelerator beginning in October, and receive specialized mentoring to help them expand and grow their WhatsApp service for social change.
The programme comes to a close with the 2022 Chat for Impact Accelerator, where the selected Accelerator participants will demonstrate and showcase their WhatsApp chat service.
Chat for Impact Accelerator
In collaboration with Praekelt.org and Turn.io, WhatsApp will power the 2022 Chat for Impact Accelerator and Summit. The Accelerator takes happen in October and November 2022, while the Bootcamps run from July through October 2022.
The Chat for Impact Accelerator programme was created to support, accelerate, and expand the work being done by social change companies to give disadvantaged, disenfranchised, and minority populations quick, safe access to essential information and help via WhatsApp. In 2021, ten companies, including Digify Africa, Reach52, Worldreader, Mobile Pathways, Talk2U, Vote.org, SameSame, Ladysmith, StrongMinds, and Voices of Venezuela, participated in the first accelerator and successfully launched their chat service on WhatsApp.
“Ben Supple, Head of Civic Engagement WhatsApp at Meta, is excited to continue Chat for Impact Accelerator Program in conjunction with Praekelt.org and Turn.io to promote and advance the work of social impact groups throughout the world. “The Accelerator is a fantastic chance to work closely with a limited group of organizations to expand the impact and reach of their WhatsApp service. We are interested to see the products and effects these organizations are able to produce.”
According to Gustav Praekelt, co-founder of Turn.io and founder of Praekelt.org, “With each chat solution we develop with our partners, we see the remarkable capacity of chat to reach, engage, and connect with communities where they are.” “We are thrilled to be partnering with WhatsApp once more to push this further with the 2022 Chat for Impact Summit and Accelerator. We are eager to collaborate with social change organizations all across the world to drastically increase their impact by using scalable chat.
