At Tata Steel Meramandali, there are road safety awareness sessions
Road safety awareness – Tata Steel Meramandali, located in Narendraur, Dhenkanal district, is now hosting a number of events as part of its month-long Road Safety campaign.
With the support of the District Administration, mass meetings, mega road safety awareness rallies, surprise alcohol checks, positive reinforcement on-road safety themes, and other activities are being carried out near the factory on National Highway Number 55. Awareness programs are also being organized to educate both employees and local populations on how to improve safety and reduce road crash fatalities.
Mr. Abhishek Sharma, Head, Security, Tata Steel Meramandali, felicitated the traffic volunteers at the plant and members of the security department’s Quick Reaction Team, who play a critical role in road safety management inside the plant, to encourage the team involved in the campaign.
The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, is commemorating the 33rd National Road Safety Month from January 18 to February 17, 2022. By supporting road safety programs around the country, the National Safety Council complements the government’s commitment. The month-long campaign is largely run online, in accordance with the COVID-19 rules. Online quiz competitions, online hazard hunt competitions, and other events are among the highlights. Furthermore, any outstanding safety performance by employees, contractors, or vendor partners will be recognized and rewarded at the conclusion of the campaign.
Road safety awareness program
On January 18, 2022, Subrata Basak, Chief Logistics Officer and Chairman Apex Rail & Road Safety Sub-Committee (ARRSSC), Tata Steel Meramandali, formally launched this month-long campaign virtually in the presence of Agam Kumar, Chief Safety, ARRSSC members, safety professionals and captains, safety champions, employees, and business partners of Tata Steel Meramandali.
