Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) celebrates Anniversary
Thonoredhe CSR division of McDonald’s, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) India, recently celebrated its sixth anniversary in the country. The event honoured RMHC India’s dedication to helping families of children with terminal illnesses and reaffirmed its promise to help a lot more families in the future. To celebrate the occasion, hundreds of schoolchildren took part in entertaining games and other leisure activities. Through Ronald McDonald Family Room, the organization has been striving since its creation in 2016 to make the challenging path for parents and their sick children receiving cancer treatment easier (RMFR).
When these families need it most, the RMFR, located in the Paediatric Haematology – Oncology Outpatient Department of Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, offers comfort and care. Since its beginning, RMHC India has impacted the lives of more than 35,000 families. Due to the scarcity of healthcare services in their hometowns, the majority of the children and their families that frequent the RMHC Family Room are from distant, rural areas of India.

The Family Room provides a cheerful and upbeat setting where children can be kids and do things they love to do like play with toys and read books in addition to finding comfort in one other’s presence to help the kids deal better in a hospital environment. It offers numerous amenities like a kid-friendly play corner and a refreshments area for these families as they wait in a comfortable waiting area before meeting the doctors. The facility has 19 recliner beds for children receiving therapy, as well as the appropriate counselling, a space to rest and regroup, and other resources for families. In order to provide more children with comfortable rest throughout their treatment, RMHC India plans to increase the number of beds in the upcoming months.
“This is a very satisfying moment for us as we commemorate the 6th Anniversary of RMHC India,” stated Smita Jatia, Chairwoman of RMHC India. We have had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of kids and their families because to our partnership with BJ Wadia Hospital. With the goal of keeping kids and families near to one another during trying times, RMHC India is doing everything in its power to get in touch with them and make sure they have a reassuring medical experience. On this occasion, we would like to reaffirm our commitment to putting more smiles on the faces of these little angels and supporting our community. RMHC India is now synonymous with care, wellbeing, and support.
The 368 Ronald McDonald Houses located across 64 nations are part of the global network that Ronald McDonald House Charities is building. To assist all families whose children have been receiving medical care for their serious diseases, the RMHC institution builds and promotes care centres, care rooms, and care houses.
