UpGrad Foundation to provide skill development and mentorship to all
UpGrad Foundation – UpGrad, an EdTech company, has launched a philanthropic and non-profit section to help make great education more affordable and accessible.
The UpGrad Foundation aims to reach out to everyone with developing goals through its motto of lifelong learning, upskilling, and career upgrades.
“In the next decade, we want to see instructors, coaches, and a million learners who cannot afford or deserve greatness benefit from the UpGrad Foundation,” stated Ronnie Screwvala, UpGrad’s Chairperson and Co-Founder.
Teacher training, mentorship and coaching, career assistance, scholarships, internships, and online student exchange programmes will all be priorities for the foundation. Working professionals, such as first-generation college students, women returning to the workforce, and many in the public sector or the military, are expected to profit.
The pro-bono buddy and mentor platform will get off the ground with an initial financial commitment of Rs 500 million from UpGrad, while the foundation plans to invite donors and corporations to participate in grant schemes.
