WCF CyberSmart Empowers One Million Learners
WCF CyberSmart – Since its start in May 2020, WNS Cares Foundation (WCF), the CSR arm of WNS Global Services, has empowered over one million learners through CyberSmart, its cybersafety education platform.
Through the portal, WCF provides thorough cybersafety awareness training for teachers and principals, who then train youngsters to protect their safety in cyberspace. Parents are also made aware of the situation. A CyberSmart School certificate is given to schools who fulfil 85 percent of certifications. Through youth social responsibility internship programmes, university students are involved in reaching out to students and certifying them as CyberSmart. WCF volunteers perform CyberSmart classes and portal walkthroughs for kids, as well as train teachers in schools. WCF has partnered with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other foundations to raise awareness among its beneficiaries.
“Our goal is to provide every youngster with the knowledge and confidence they need to properly navigate the internet world.” We are ecstatic about the overwhelming support CyberSmart has received in reaching the goal of certifying one million learners in India. WNS Group CEO Keshav R. Murugesh said, “We look forward to continue our mission of equipping children with the principles of cybersafety.”
“I’d want to express my gratitude to all of our stakeholders and partner organizations with whom we’ve worked over the last two years to expand CyberSmart’s reach.” “In the future, we will continue to advance the cybersafety agenda through similar strategic alliances,” stated Shamini Murugesh, WCF Honorary Chief Mentor and Creator of CyberSmart.
CyberSmart (cybersmart.wnscaresfoundation.org), India’s first comprehensive cybersafety education portal, allows for gamified learning through thematic quiz-based modules based on curricular advice and issues that children face in cyberspace. Shri Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, MeitY, released it nationally in May 2020 in collaboration with NASSCOM, and it is available in ten Indian languages. Since the portal’s introduction, WCF has engaged with a number of ecosystem partners, including other non-profits, state and federal government agencies, educational institutions, and platforms, to ensure that it reaches a wide audience. Atal Tinkering Labs (NITI Aayog), Tech Mahindra Foundation, Robotex India Foundation, Pratham Infotech Foundation, Hyderabad City Security Council, and Childline India Foundation are among WCF CyberSmart partners. For earning 7000+ certificates in 2 hours, the CyberSmart programme has been inducted into the ‘Asia Book of Records.’
